FORD 223 cu inch, inline six
This engine lost the oil pump and thus must be rebuilt. it
includes the bell housing, clutch and pressure plate. It
was origionally in a 55 or 56 pickup and has been sitting on
a custom pallot up in the barn for over 20 years. The
transmission is also available as a seperate item. These
old ford truck engines are amazing, I have a F600, 15,000
GVW and a 223/6 would take me back and forth over the hills
of Virginia to Pittsburgh. This type of engine is not
available as a factory rebuilts because cores are no longer
commonly available. something to consider if you are
thinking of restoring an old 50’s Ford and intend to keep it
original. I have a chain fall in the barn so I can load it
onto a flatbed.
