This may be a bit of a long story but I’ll try my best to make shorter. We lost our American bully at age 13. I had her before my children were born and she was with us through 3 kids. She was my children’s best friend and my soul dog. We finally decided about a year later to add another bully pup to our life. We were told this puppy (5 months old) was good with cats and kids. We met the dog before we agreed to adopt and she was great. We got her home and about 2 days later she started chasing our cat. We called in a trainer and were working with her and the cat both to be able to live together peacefully. She was doing great but couldn’t be left unsupervised with the cat. A couple weeks ago the most devastating thing happened and she chased the cat and ended up catching her and fatally injured her.. we rushed her to the vet but unfortunately the cat didn’t survive. Now we are left with a hole in our hearts once again. This is so weird for us because we have never had a prey driven American bully. They are typically calmer and easier to handle. Our vet and trainer recommended getting a younger puppy that will adjust better to our household and learn to exist with the cat we have left with no issues. We have spent thousands at this point so money is an issue rehoming fee wise. We prefer a non prey driven or cat and kid friendly American bully, English bulldog, French bulldog, Boston terrier, or German shepherd but are open to other breeds as well. If anyone has one that fits our requirements please text me. My youngest daughter’s birthday is in one week and all she’s asked for is a “nice puppy”. We can give you vet references and you can come see where the puppy will live. We promise a good indoor loving family home. Thanks!
