Black Australorpes are the top rated brown egg layers of heritage breeds. They lay LOTS of beautiful large brown eggs and are also a dual purpose bird with roosters growing to an excellent size for meat as well.

Their glossy black and iridescent green color is a deterrent for hawks. They are also a calm breed and hens will sometimes go broody and they are good mothers when they hatch out chicks.

Straightrun chicks are available for $3 each $2.50 for 12 or more

You can come to our farm in Duffield, Virginia, or we can meet as far as Wise or Gate City, Va, or Kingsport, Johnson City, and Bristol, Tennessee
