This was my grandmother's table, so it is more than 100 years old. I do not know what kind of wood it is, only that it is solid wood. The table has a fold down leaf on each of two sides plus two center leafs that can be inserted. The smallest size if 40" x 27". With the fold down leaves it becomes 40" x 50.5". The center leaves are 10" each, so they would add 10" or 20".
